We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Harrison.
As many of the countless tributes from fellow musicians have already expressed, Tom’s impact on the Vancouver music scene was incalculably vast. For our band, his support was career-altering; there is no doubt that he was instrumental in helping The Grapes sign to a major record label.
In 1986, the A&R team from Capitol-EMI Records was in Vancouver to check out a local band. During a set break, Tom suggested they visit the Savoy Club in Gastown to catch some of our show. That was the night that the ball got rolling, with us eventually being signed directly to Capitol.
In the following years, Tom consistently supported us, with positive album and concert reviews, as well as features in local papers. It was always great to run into him at a local bar, have a drink and discuss music; his knowledge being very deep. He was such a champion of the Vancouver music scene-an enthusiastic pioneer especially when indie bands needed all the exposure they could get.
It is with the utmost excitement that we announce the addition of THE GRAPES OF WRATH to our festival lineup. The legendary Canadian artists will perform on July 23 along with Chilliwack, The Northern Pikes, Megan Nash, The North Sound, People of the Sun, Karissa Hoffart, Kara Golemba, and many more.

Hi everyone. We’re rescheduling our Ontario April dates. We should have more details for you soon. In the meantime please stay positive and take care of yourselves.
The Grapes Of Wrath are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Capital/EMI president, Deane Cameron. We first met Deane in 1986, when he had come to Vancouver to check out another band and during a break between sets, wandered down the street to the little club we were playing at. Deane immediately understood what we were trying to do as a band, and once we were signed to the label he allowed us the artistic freedom we needed to develop our music and then championed the results to the rest of the EMI family worldwide, resulting in international releases and numerous US and European tours. As anyone who knew him will attest, Deane truly believed in the power of music and its ability to transform lives, and he cared about the people who were making the music as well. Thanks for everything, Deane.
We are being inducted into The Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame. It happens in Kelowna as part of The Western Canadian Music Awards at Breakout West. October 13, 2018.
